We Have To Relenquish Our Will

What’s up beautiful people!

Today I got another revelation and I’m super excited to share it with you, in hopes that you may see yourself in this too.

As you all know I have 3 boys ages 20, 15 and 14.  My oldest just recently got his own car and as excited as I am about that, I’m still not ready to let him go. I’m doing the parent thing (buckle up, no texting while driving, don’t ride with a car full of people etc).  He says to me “mom you worry too much.  I’m more mature than you think”.  Well at that point I honestly didn’t want to relenquish my will, but as I began to see how much he has grown I had to let him go, but I’m still watching.  🤦🏽‍♀️😳☺️

Today my 15 year old comes to us and says I want to drive to the store 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️😓.  I’m definitely not letting this one get behind the wheel...lol.  So we talked about it, joked about it and ignored the thought all together.  Dad and I aren’t ready to see the 15 year old grow up either. As much as we tried to ignore it we went ahead and jumped in the car and we let him drive back home.  We made it back safely!! 😊😓😀

As I was walking away from the car something hit me. Isn’t this how we are when it comes to relinquishing our will to God. We wrestle with it, think about it, ignore it in hopes the thought would go away. Honestly there are some things in our will that we don’t want to give up.  Even though we know they’re not healthy for us, good for us and may even be a detriment to us.

But today I realized that at some point in our lives we have to relenquish our wills and allow the will of God to take control. Yes we’re going to fight along the way, but as we see things change for the better in his will we will fully relenquish our will.

Its like outgrowing your clothes and yet we want to hold on to them as motivation...LOL  It’s easier to just let it go and move on.  So today think about why you haven’t relenquished your will yet and make the decision to do it. Don’t give it a second thought!

Be Blessed!
